What has ISLG done for the industry

Management and assurance of the supply chain presents many varied and challenging issues for the rail industry.

After identifying concerns regarding inefficiencies and difficulties with supplier assurance, ISLG has pushed this issue forward.  RSSB now has an initiative within its National Programmes, the Supplier Assurance Working Group. The SAWG is producing a range of resources which are beginning to come on-stream to support the industry in the management and assurance of the supply chain.  ISLG members are actively supporting SAWG.

ISLG have also identified issues with the current Work Package Planning process.  This is also now being addressed through RSSB.

Tackling issues associated with the multiple-sponsorship of the labour force is one of the current focus areas for ISLG.

 How does RSSB support ISLG?

RSSB supports and contributes to ISLG by:
  • providing secretarial support for meetings
  • operating a risk model for workforce safety
  • giving advice on legislation issues
  • managing the ISLG web site for ISLG
  • managing industry bodies designed for shared learning
  • developing and managing a research programme for Infrastructure Contractors
